It would be your job to take doctors’ dictated notes on tapes and type them up so they can either be printed and mailed out or filed electronically. These documents are the main source for the patients’ charts and medical records or history, and effect health care decisions that the patients and doctors make. For this reason, you must be able to document within a deadline, be as confidential as possible and check for accuracy.

Associate degrees can take up to two years to complete, perhaps less if you have some previous college credit.
